Biography

My undergraduate degree is in Occupational Therapy. I worked as an OT school districts and at Denver Children's Hospital. I went back to school in 2001 and earned a master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a license in Early Childhood Special Education. I worked in Douglas County School District for 12 years as an Early Childhood Special Educator and loved teaching all levels of learners in the classroom. I found myself really focused and interested in teaching social and emotional skills to preschoolers. I then moved on to working at a non-profit called Invest in Kids for 15 years. My role there was the Program Director of a social skills program called The Incredible Years. I trained and coached educators in The Incredible Years classroom curriculum, parent program, and classroom management. After my time at Invest in Kids, I moved on to do some education coaching in Adams County Head Start center and also worked for an international non-profit called invest in play as the US client development specialist.

Throughout my career one thing remains constant and that is my passion for teaching young children and supporting their families. I love to see kids learn and grow and watch their excitement and enthusiasm. In addition to watching young learners grow, I enjoy supporting and coaching professionals in education. I consider it a privilege to set goals with educators and support them to meet those goals to enhance learning for children and families.
